He’s a pussy.

So many of us were excited to get a new president because we thought we’d get some change. Wasn’t that what he ran on?But we’re not getting change. What we’re getting is a patsy, a fall guy; someone who will play president while the white guys behind the curtain pull the strings.

We wanted Obama to be real. We thought he recognized our struggle; we wanted him to be our nigga.

Is that wrong? Was it racist of us to think a black president should “act black” and get some shit done? I think what we saw was someone who looked different then all the last- and if he was black he might understand the struggle that most of us feel. A “real” black guy would be able to tell those honky ass crackers where to stick it and stand up for us. What we got was a house Negro that wants to make everyone happy and doesn’t want to rock the boat.

Oh, the disappointment.

So what now? We’re on our own out here. All we get from Obama is a mandate to buy insurance and make corporate America richer. So what should we do? I think we need to start being AWARE. Enough of this “they have our best interest” bullshit. I admit I was hoodwinked by Benson; I mean Obama, but no more. The jig is up. I see you, America.

All we need do is look at the results. No need for conspiracy theories here. The trends speak clearly for themselves. THEY DON’T WANT TO HELP US.

How can I say that? Well, Bush pushed through EXACTLY what he willed. We started a war with a country that didn’t do shit to us. We now occupy that country and will for the duration. (We occupy Germany and Vietnam for Christ’s sake.) Habeus corpus is indefinitely suspended. (You can be detained for however long with NO explanation of detention.) The government can look in your window, or tap your phone and if you so much as j-walk you can be considered a terrorist. Without even addressing 9/11, it looks to me like an agenda was run and executed. So you’re telling me Obama doesn’t have the power to give us healthcare? Really? You’re talking to me like I’m stupid. This bi-partisan bullshit is nothing more than a pseudo friendly way to not get shit done.

Watch how easy it is for me to be Barrack Obama and get us health care.

If we care about our fellow countrymen and saving their lives like we wish we could have on 9/11, then we should save the 4,500 people that die every year in this country from not having insurance. 450.000 people in THIS country die every year from heart disease. 0 people died from terrorism, yet we spend TRILLIONS on defense. People are dying, yet fear is being generated in the wrong areas.

This doesn’t get said and you want me to believe that they care about lives? They don’t. They care about the Military Industrial Complex. The phrase was coined in President Dwight Eisenhower’s farewell address where he warned us of this Military Industrial Complex. As it is with most things we’re warned of, we disregarded it. We forgot about it. Many of us don’t even know what he was talking about..

He was talking about the machine that runs war for profit.

Let me break this down for you. The Federal Reserve is no more federal than Federal Express. They are a private company owned by several families who have been lending to countries for centuries. They are our central bank, which means they print our money at an additional cost. Some of our forefathers warned us of having a central bank, saying it would enslave the nation. President Abraham Lincoln tried to return us to a Green Back banking system, which means our money would be backed by gold and silver. He was shot in the head. President John F. Kennedy also tried to return us to a Green Back banking system. He was also shot in the head.

So, besides shooting presidents in the head, how else might a bank of this magnitude go about getting its money back? You know how you would go about getting your money back from a friend. You know how a bank might go about getting its money back from you. How does a bank go about getting its money back from a country? Might it lend also to the enemy of the country? Might both countries spend more money and borrow more money if they were at war with each other?

Without delving in to all the particulars of historical and not so distant past situations, let’s go back to President Barak Obama. Who is this man actually beholden to? Us, his constituents, or to our central bank who actually owns every dollar in circulation plus interest? What he doesn’t want is for the bank to call in the loans. We’d be in an instant depression. He has to somehow keep these balls in the air; appease the people and do what is necessary to keep the bank happy.

So what about us? This whole system is built on flimsy ground. It’s a ponzi scheme of epic proportions. It only works because we believe in it. So why don’t we stand up for ourselves? If we let the Tea Party or the right or the left stand up for us, we’ll get what we have gotten. No one is addressing the real issue. Obama is busy trying not get hung for a tree. Can you blame him?

All we can do is refuse to play, but we won’t. We can’t. We’ve been sold on a dream we’ll never attain. Wealth won’t be ours, technology is too fun to give up, we’d never make it out in the woods alone, and Jersey Shore is on. Give me my phone. I need to tweet this.

"Truth is on the side of the oppressed.”- Malcolm X"

““Truth is on the side of the oppressed.”- Malcolm X”

No Country For Old Black Men

I wrote this right after the election. I thought it was time for it to make another appearance.

The inauguration is over, (thank God) but I’m left with more questions than I’m going to get answers. I feel that most the country is on some sort of high, a kind of “we did this awesome thing” type of high; which is fine, but no problems have been solved or even addressed. Barrack Obama is certainly not going to go there. (Have you heard him address even one black issue?) So fuck ‘im. I’ll go there.

We all remember that one ad run constantly during the campaign. The one showing Jeremiah Wright saying “America’s chickens are coming home to roost”. It was played at nauseum, but did you ever bother to listen to the whole thing? I have it here for you and I urge you to watch it as I have important questions to ask.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOdlnzkeoyQ&feature=player_embedded

Tell me please; tell me one thing he said that’s wrong. Just one. Was he saying that we brought 9/11 on ourselves, as Bill O’Reilly so ignorantly stated? No. He’s saying that when this kind of thing happens to us it’s horrible but when it happens elsewhere by America’s hands, we are largely unaffected. And another thing that bothers me is that Obama completely rejected Wright and his teachings. Why? The man said nothing wrong. I’ve listened to other sermons of his and I have yet to disagree with him. Even the “God damn America” sermon is on point and he’s basically saying what he was in the sermon above. So why would Barrack Obama reject Reverend Wright? Why would our first black president try to distance himself from all that that is black culture (barring Stevie Wonder songs)? I’m going to ask this and I’m almost cringing at what I might get in response, but is Barrack Obama a nigga or is Barrack Obama nigga lite?

America is ready for a technically black president as long as he doesn’t act black. Is there any prayer of Louis Farrakhan being our next president?

Ya, that’s never going to happen. I propose that white people like their blacks to be nigga lite. All the nigga color with none of the nigga taste.

Let me illustrate my point like this:. No Country for Old Men was a great movie wasn’t it? It was one of those great “feel good” movies that…. Okay, it wasn’t “feel good” like that; it was “feel good” like “this is really well written and well acted and I’ll never watch it again because it was about nothing more than a guy killing people for no reason and it kinda made me feel like shit” “feel good” movies. So let’s give it lots of awards. But it got me to thinking: If this movie’s main character was a black guy, would it have won or even been nominated for an Oscar? Does anyone even go see No County for Old Black Men? (Where instead of flipping a coin and telling people to “call it” before killing them, a black guy says “roll the dice nigga” and kills them with a tire iron. Heh.) Really, I’m asking you guys, does the same movie win Best Picture of the Year if the main character is black?

Am I talking about The Academy of Motion Picture Arts not giving enough Academy Awards to African Americans actors? No, no. They don’t hand out many to black actors, but that’s not the problem. There are not all that many black actors in the first place and that IS the problem.

America can’t handle too much darkness. Example: Halle Berry wins an Oscar for Monster’s Ball. Does she still win if her sex scene was with a black guy? We thought the scene was exciting and riveting. If she was doing that with a black man, do we look at that scene as Oscar worthy, or do we look at it as just Tuesday for black people?

If Hollywood could handle more black people, we would see them in darker roles instead of in good natured, non threatening roles.

We love this non threatening, mildly homosexual Negro:

He can be in all the movies we go see as long as he’s not playing a child molester or a serial killer.

Let’s talk about a TV show that only two of you watched, received critical acclaim as one of the best shows ever on TV, but was never recognized by the Emmy’s because there were too many black people in it: The Wire.
The realism and drama portrayed in The Wire was unparalleled. An in depth look at life in Baltimore, exploring every aspect from the local government to the drug dealers to the kids on the corner to the cops on the beat; it even delved into the local media. All viewpoints were explored fully and masterfully by writer David Simon. The show ended after 5 seasons in a finale not rivaled by any other. Even though the show ended last year, I still feel that all the characters are living on and I know exactly what they are doing.

Was The Wire better than The Sopranos? Absolutely. Any episode of The Wire is better than the best episode of The Sopranos which we all know was NOT the series finale. And think about it guys, seriously ask yourself, why do we love a show about fat white guys killing at will, drug dealing, racketeering, and having tons of sex that we really don’t want to see, but a better show about black people doing the same doesn’t get watched by as many and gets looked over by the Emmy’s? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of The Sopranos, but when I’m being honest, it’s not nearly as good as The Wire. So I have to ask myself; why did this show get looked over? It’s got to be more than the “main stream America doesn’t relate to black people in the inner city of Baltimore” excuse. How does the main stream actually “relate” to Tony Soprano’s life anyway? And another question: do we love The Soprano’s as much and think the show is overwhelmingly smart and awesome if the Soprano’s are the Jenkins’? If the family is black and all of Tony’s friends are a corner full of Crips, aren’t we NOT watching the show because it’s too violent? Isn’t a group of concerned mothers picketing outside the studio? The Jenkins’ isn’t winning Emmy’s. You’d think that The Jenkins’ would be a show on the WB, but it’s not. It’s on HBO. It’s called The Wire and you never watched it.

Is this about racism? I don’t think it is. I don’t think it’s as simple as black and white. There’s more nuance to the issue. It’s going to take thought and intelligent conversation to gain perspective; solution is still too far off in the distance and can’t be solved by electing Barrack Obama. He seems like a great guy; an exceptional black man, but when black people can suck just as bad as white people and get as far, only then have we arrived. Today we can watch fucked up white kid after fucked up white kid getting help on A&E’s Intervention, but the drug war is an inner-city problem. Charles Barkley gets charged with a DUI and is kicked off the air but Marv Albert can forcibly sodomize and repeatedly bite women and can keep working.

Example after example the trend is clear. So the next time Barrack Obama gives a really “awesome” speech, ask yourself, is Obama really change, or just change we can swallow? Until we view all people in this great land regardless of creed and ethnicity as Americans and their struggles become our struggles, we haven’t made changes that we can believe in.
